Civil Engineering Programme copy
BEng (Hons)
School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment
Overview :
This professionally accredited degree provides the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to design, construct, and maintain the critical infrastructure that shapes our modern world. Through the pathway at Capital Universities Foundation in Egypt, students will engage with the core principles of structural analysis, geotechnics, materials, and hydraulics. The programme combines rigorous theoretical learning with project-based applications and laboratory work, preparing graduates to tackle global challenges such as sustainable development, climate resilience, and urbanisation as skilled and innovative civil engineers.
- Delivery: CUF Branch Campus
- Duration: 4 Years
- Mode of Study: Full-Time
- Level: Direct Entry
- Type: Undergraduate Programme
- Study Area: Engineering
Academic Themes
Structural Analysis and Design
Analysing forces and stresses within structures and designing safe, efficient, and sustainable buildings, bridges, and other infrastructures using materials like steel, concrete, and timber.
Geotechnical Engineering
Understanding the properties of soil and rock to design safe foundations, earthworks, slopes, and tunnelling projects, ensuring stability and managing geological risks.
Water Engineering and Hydraulics
Managing water resources through the design of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), water supply networks, flood defences, and wastewater treatment solutions.
Construction Materials and Project Management
Evaluating the behaviour and application of construction materials and learning the principles of project planning, budgeting, and site management to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Transportation & Railway Engineering
Understanding the principles of design for roads and railways, considering the environmental impact and ethical issues associated with both of them.
