Electrical and Electronic Engineering copy

BEng (Hons)

School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment

Overview :

This degree equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to innovate in the fast-evolving field of electrical and electronic engineering. Delivered in partnership with Capital Universities Foundation in Egypt, the programme covers a wide spectrum from analogue and digital circuit design to power systems and microelectronics. Students will learn to design, develop, and test electrical equipment and electronic devices, gaining hands-on experience in labs and through projects that mirror real-world challenges in sectors like telecommunications, robotics, renewable energy, and consumer electronics.

Academic Themes

Circuit Analysis and Electronic Design

Designing, analysing, and testing analogue and digital electronic circuits, which form the foundation of all modern electronic devices.

Electrical Power and Machines

Understanding the generation, transmission, and distribution of electrical power, and the operation and control of electrical machines like motors and generators.

Embedded Systems and Microcontrollers

Programming and integrating microprocessors and microcontrollers to create smart embedded systems for applications in automation, IoT, and control.

Signal Processing and Communications

Analysing and manipulating signals (analogue and digital) for effective data transmission in modern communication systems, including wireless technologies.
